Parc Impérial
A quarter born around a Belle Époque palace hotel, from which it kept its name and its scale.
The name comes from the Hôtel Impérial, built in the early twentieth century on the slopes above the Baumettes quarter. The building changed use, but the urban pattern it set remains: wide plots, villas, and a road layout designed for a time when cars were few.
The quarter holds an intermediate position: high enough for view and quiet, low enough to reach the centre and the seafront on foot or in a few minutes by car. It is that position, more than the architecture, which explains its standing.
The building stock is heterogeneous — early-century villas, sixties blocks, recent construction. The property's period therefore matters more here than the quarter's name: two neighbouring addresses may share neither volumes nor running costs.
