Saint Antoine de Ginestière
The hills of western Nice, long agricultural, where building still happens on plots of decent size.
The sector occupies the hills overlooking the Var plain, west of the city. It was long agricultural, and the pattern of plots shows it: larger grounds than in the central quarters, often gently sloping, sometimes suitable for a pool.
Dual south and west aspect is common here, which makes for long days and bright late afternoons. It is one of the few sectors of Nice where one still finds land around a house rather than a house on its plot.
Western Nice is served by the main roads towards the airport and the Var plain, putting the terminal about ten minutes away. The city centre, on the other hand, is further than a map suggests: the relief lengthens every journey.
