A DISTRICT OF Nice
Place Masséna
The city centre, rebuilt to a single design in the nineteenth century and returned to pedestrians in the twenty-first.
The square was laid out in the 1840s, in arcades and red-ochre façades of Turinese inspiration — Nice then belonged to the States of Savoy. That unity of treatment makes it one of the few ensembles in the city conceived in one piece rather than accumulated over periods.
The Fountain of the Sun occupies its southern end. The seven kneeling figures overlooking the square, installed in 2007, are the work of Jaume Plensa: they light up at night and change colour, which has lastingly changed how one finds one's bearings here after dark.
The tram crosses the square and the Old Town begins a few steps away. It is the most central address on the territory, with what that implies: everything is on foot, and the activity does not stop when the shops close. An apartment on the courtyard and one on the square do not offer the same life.

The district is part of our territory even when we have nothing to sell there. Tell us what you are looking for: that is often how a property comes free.
